Displacement and migration related to disasters, climate change and environmental degradation 11-12 May 2023 in Stockholm, Sweden.
The aim of the conference is to explore the impact of climate change on global migration patterns. It also aims at discussing what could be done in the future to address the impacts of climate change on displacement and migration, both in terms of foreign and development policies and in relation to policy frameworks for migration.
While the exact impacts of climate change on migration are still not known, there has been mounting attention on in-country and cross-border displacement that is disproportionately impacting people in vulnerable situations, and this is projected to continue on a much greater scale. The conference will bring together a broad range of international experts on climate change and migration from different fields to assess the current situation and explore new strategies at EU and national level.
The agenda, concept note, and official invitation will follow.
