EMN Sweden to hold an interactive workshop on migration at the 2026 Swedish Forum for Human Rights

For the second year in a row, EMN Sweden will participate in the Swedish Forum for Human Rights (MR-dagarna) – the Nordic region’s largest forum for human rights. The event will take place on 25–26 November 2026 in Karlstad and will bring together representatives from civil society, international organisations, the public sector, academia and other sectors. This year, EMN is inviting participants to a one-hour interactive workshop featuring one of EMN’s products — the learning tool ‘Destination Europe’.

EMN Sweden is participating in the event for the second consecutive year. This is part of our long-term strategy to expand the national network and strengthen cooperation with civil society on migration issues.

This year’s theme is freedom, and the programme includes seminars organised by, among others:

  • the Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society (MUCF),
  • the Swedish Agency for Participation,
  • the Equality Ombudsman (DO),
  • the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR),
  • Amnesty International and Amnesty Sápmi,
  • the Union for Professionals, Akademikerförbundet SSR,
  • Uppsala University,
  • Region Värmland (the County of Värmland).

About the workshop and the ‘Destination Europe’ learning tool

This year, EMN Sweden will hold a workshop on migration featuring an interactive session with one of the EMN’s products – the learning and training tool ‘Destination Europe’. The game, which is managed by EMN Luxembourg, is aimed at upper secondary school pupils and can be used as a practical learning tool to support education and knowledge development on EU migration policy. The game is free of charge and it will be distributed during the workshop.

The workshop takes place on Thursday, 26 November 2026.

Time: 09:00–10:00

Room: Selma Lagerlöf on floor 3

Venue: Karlstad CCC (Getting to Karlstad CCC External link, opens in new window.)

Information campaign about ‘Destination Europe’ in Sweden

From September to December 2025, EMN Sweden carried out a national information campaign aimed at fostering learning and increasing understanding of migration issues. Through interactive lectures held at upper secondary school across Sweden, approximately 25 classes (around 700 students) had the opportunity to play the game and learn more about EU migration policy.

We look forward to seeing you there,
EMN Sweden
