United Kingdom has rejoined the EMN as an Observer Country
United Kingdom left the EMN in connection with Brexit in the end of January 2020. In June 2026, the European Commission and the United Kingdom's Home Office signed an Administrative Arrangement, making the United Kingdom an Observer Country of the European Migration Network (EMN).

On 19 June 2026, the European Commission and the Home Office of the United Kingdom, signed an Administrative Arrangement officialising their cooperation within the framework of the EMN, as the United Kingdom becomes one of the network’s Observer Countries.
Both sides agreed to exchange up-to-date, objective, reliable and comparable information on asylum and migration in the United Kingdom and EMN Member and Observer Countries.
The Administrative Arrangement is an important step towards reinforced cooperation and efficient exchange of information. As an Observer Country, the United Kingdom will contribute to the EMN’s activities by providing input to EMN publications, conferences and other events.
The EMN consists of 36 EMN Member Countries, of which 10 are Observer Countries, since they are not EU Member States.
