EMN study 2025: Annual report on asylum and migration
The study provides a comparable overview of the main legal, policy and operational developments in asylum and migration in 30 EMN Member and Observer Countries. The report includes statistics sourced from Eurostat. This edition does not include implementation reporting related to the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum.
For the first time since 2013, Venezuela replaced Syria as the main country of citizenship of applicants for international protection in the EU. The number of third-country nationals residing in the EU and Norway increased by 6% compared with 2024.
