National network

As EMN National Contact Point (NCP), the Swedish Migration Agency is responsible for establishing and maintaining a national network in Sweden. One of the purposes of the national network is to help ensure that the information produced within the EMN is objective and reliable and contributes to policymaking in the EU in the areas of migration and asylum.

The national network brings together a broad range of public authorities, organisations and individual experts with expertise in migration and asylum. The EMN provides objective, comparable and policy-relevant information and knowledge on emerging issues relating to migration and asylum in Europe.

EMN Sweden regularly disseminates EMN studies and other publications to the national network. We also share information about conferences, seminars and other events, organised by the EMN.

Each year, EMN Sweden organises one or more conferences and other meetings that bring together stakeholders from the national network to discuss topics of common interest. The conferences provide a forum for Swedish and European stakeholders in the field of migration to meet and exchange information, knowledge and experience on current topics.

In connection with previous studies and events, we have collaborated with, among others:

• Swedish public authorities and organisations, including the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, the Swedish Public Employment Service, the County Administrative Board, Statistics Sweden (SCB), the Swedish Gender Equality Agency, the Swedish Police Authority, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Employment, the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR), the Swedish Red Cross and the Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society (MUCF).
• Research and educational institutions, including Linköping University, the Swedish Delegation for Migration Studies (Delmi) and the Expert Group for Aid Studies (EBA).
• European and international organisations, including Greater Copenhagen, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Migration Policy Institute (MPI) Europe and the European Commission Representation in Sweden.
• Civil society, including through our participation as an exhibitor at the Swedish Forum for Human Rights, the largest forum for human rights in the Nordic region. This forms part of EMN Sweden’s long-term efforts to strengthen cooperation with civil society on migration issues.
